In association with The BDRA and Car Club Fest 2026
TWUK Finals was held in association with the Car Club Fest 2026 event at the 3 Counties Showground in Malvern. The BDRA gratefully accepted the invite to host the event here after an FPV pilot in their community thought it would be a great space for some drone racing. And they were spot on - the venue was perfect for the finals of the UK Tiny Whoop League.
Unloading the van, Blueprint and Minirollsrule set about arranging tables, setting up flags and assembling a track for some fun fly on Friday night. With DirtyMcStinky bringing the netting, Jaggers bringing the PA, Kiz bringing the Race Directing kit and Antihype stepping up with a live stream rig, all corners of the FPV community helped set the stage for a fantastic weekend of drone racing.
Our thanks go to Blueprint for setting up a great funfly track in the huge space provided. It was fast and flowing and really tested the pilots ability and control at speed. It was planned to change up the track for saturday but around the digital campfire that evening (real fires banned during this exceptionally hot summer) pilots voted unanimously to keep it for team racing.
Team Racing - Saturday
A format that has been floating around and growing in popularity is team racing. This is a frantic 30 mins of racing to get as many packs as possible meaning pilots must swap over, batteries get changed as fast as possible and flying consistently gets rewarded over lucky fast laps.
Saturday lunchtime 4 teams emerged from the elite pilots here this weekend. This event was just for fun and so the rules were reasonably loose. But generally it was agreed that, all pilots must take turns to fly at least 1 lap, only full laps count, crashes can only be recovered by a member of the team, and teams would fly head to head in a single elimination tournament format.

Semi Finals 1) Turtle Mode VS Northern Monkeys
GenX ran his battery flat and had to run out onto track to retrieve it before the next pilot could start flying and finish that lap
Drity mcstinking running an old spare camera with a scratch making visibility difficulty but still sending it at an incredible pace
After 30 mins there was only 1 lap separating the teams with
Turtle mode - 66 laps - goes to the finals
Northern Monkeys - 65 laps - goes to the 3rd place race off
Semi Finals 2) Don’t Know VS Team KAP
Minirollsrule old saggy batteries coupled with ludicrously bright LED’s drained too much battery and so only managed 3-4 laps per run.
Norfolk’n’good’s super consistent and steady flying meant she often got 5-6 laps per run making up for this.
Lex managed to get stuck in the scissor lift forcing Jaggers to run out on track to unstick him to carry on racing. This gave team Don’t Know some valuable time to bank laps
Don’t Know - 58 Laps - goes to the 3rd place race off
Team KAP - 61 Laps - goes to the finals
3rd Place Race Off) Northern Monkeys VS Don’t Know
Just before the start, MiniRollsRule managed to take his place in the pits and crush a chair, landing on the floor and looking very sad.
Early doors Antihype was cooking but a couple of crashes meant a missed gate disqualified a lap but he redeemed himself in the pits solidly catching the whoop for a battery change.
Half way through Carpy managed to find himself under the scissor lift but a bit of wiggling and he slid his way out and carried on
About half way through Don’t Know was leading by 2 laps
Once again, Norfolk’s smooth flying just banked loads of laps very consistently
Dan Carpy was going really quick but a crash sent him into the net where he nearly needed a rescue but managed to wiggle free once again!
But at the end of the race, Northern Monkeys just edged out ahead
Don’t Know - 57 Laps - 4th Position
Northern Monkeys - 58 Laps - 3rd Position
Final Team Race) Turtle Mode VS Team KAP
Immediately on the first lap Lex makes a mistake and lands in the net, needing a rescue from a team mate and then soon after there was a midair with Infinity
And first time Dirty Mcstinky goe sout on track he has a technical going down on track and needing a rescue
Then Team KAP Jaggers goes down, pushing the whoop too far and running out of battery on lap 15. The mAh hungry HDZero video system takes more power and costing them time and laps to the other team.
At half way point, there was just 1 lap between teams
And with everyone pushing to get as many laps as possible Lex runs a battery down to zero and gets stuck out on track. His earlier tactic to run larger batteries maybe not working out for him afterall.
Dirty McStinky gets trapped in the net, recovered by teammate Mike who runs out onto track. Then teammate Infinity goes down and doesnt recover. A broken motorwire ending his race. Mike takes up the charge to keep the laps building, but at the pitstop, Dirty McStinky’s whoop fails to proceed, he just flops over and so with Infinity out, Dirty experiencing technical issues, Mike has to go out again and try to nurse this race home. This now costs team Turtle Mode dearly each time there is a pits as the battery takes time to unplug, slide out, slide new one in, plug it in, boot up and get flying.
They were 6 laps ahead but now the technicals adding up leading to finishing the race with just 4 laps in it.
Team Turtle Mode - 62 Laps - 1st Position Teams Racing Winner
Team KAP - 58 Laps - 2nd Position
After a full day of racing it was time to relax but first, one last stressful situation was essential - putting in a large pizza order with Dominoes. This honestly took longer than you’d think. It turns out the answer to the age old question “how many whoopers does it take or order a pizza?” is 8 whoopers!

This was a really nice way to end the day; hanging out, drinking beer and eating together after a great day of competitive racing. Eventually, as the light faded, we headed over to the beer tent to enjoy some enthusiastic renditions of Blink 182, The Beatles, Buddy Holly and Greenday.
TWUK League Finals - Sunday
Sunday dawned and, getting up early, the BDRA changed up the track so it was fresh for the TWUK League Finals. This ensured it was a fair flight for all competitors seeing the track for the first time and everyone gets the same amount of time out on this new track.
The track itself was long and fast, filling the huge area available to us. It also incorporated a never before seen element in UK tiny whoop racing - the double drop gate. This is a cube gate suspended off the edge of the scissor lift forcing a really steep drop. Usually something like this is difficult to set up given the available space at most clubs and low ceiling heights in pub back rooms. But with a free scissor lift, it was a perfect opportunity to try it out.
With 2 practice packs each, the pilots set off to learn the track. Once everyone had flown their practice packs, feedback was collected about this controversial gate. Certainly the double dive gate favoured the freestyle style pilots and was tricky for angle mode pilots, but it was repeatedly possible so could have been kept. But with a pilot vote, only 1/3rd of the pilots wanted to keep it and so it was reduced to a single dive gate for the competition.

Qualifying
With 15 pilots we had 4 heats of 4 pilots taking to the track trying to get as many rounds of qualifying as possible. Racing themselves they are trying to qualify with their fastest 2 consecutive laps. And unlike other racing scenes, in tiny whoop racing most pilot enjoy having 2 batteries each time they step up to fly. This was universally voted for on the day by all pilots. Back to back batteries like this helps you get into the groove and use the first battery to shake off any nerves and hopefully get better times.
Immediately times started coming in and most pilots started setting sub 40 second laps with the fastest tickly the 30 second mark. This slowly edged its way down throughout the morning as each pilot dialed in the track to get the best laps they could.
The Hann and Minirollsrule did have some video issues with interference. They were both running analogue and might have had underperforming VTX’s leading to low output power. Compared to other analogue pilots the video was terrible and is one of the reasons for increased adoption of the HDZero system. Being digital it doesnt get the same type of interference issues, but then it pays a weight penalty benign about 2 grams heavier than a racing analogue whoop.
But that wasn’t the only thing challenging MiniRollsRule, as the laps built up and concentrating hard on the lines, he forgot to keep an eye on the battery. On his 4th lap out, the super bright LED’s and multiple crashes, drained the batty to depletion, the light fading out as the whoop died out on track.

While all this was going on, the public were able to spectate from behind the safety netting. We had hundreds of people come and witness the skill and precision (and crashes) of the UK’s top pilots. The BDRA did a great job of presenting the event with flags and screens showing the public exactly what FPV drone racing is all about. It was the great pleasure of The BDRA Whoop Liaison Officer and BTW Club owner MiniRollsRule, to make the acquaintance of Zarina from Kazakhstan. She is in the UK studying at Leeds University and came all the way to Malvern to meet the UK Drone Racing competitors and experience our finals. She is part of the organisers team in Kazakhstan for their drone racing league and nation competition bringing in competitors from lots of neighbouring countries. Forging new connections across the globe through our common love of drone flight is what the BDRA and BTW Club is all about so we will be keeping in touch and hopefully seeing her and her pilots again in future!
Qualifying Results
The morning was filled with qualifying. And then a couple rounds were snuck in after lunch before we ended up with these qualifying results. Just 4 hundredths of a second separating the current reigning champion, Dan Carpy, from contender Dirty Mcstinky, proving that this is going to be a hot race. Not a race that Carpy can cruise, he’s going to have to push.

D Main Finals
Race 1
Bouncy Blueprint on the starting block as air mode and nervous thumbs cause a bit of flight controller feedback. But he got it under controls and waited for the tone before crossing teh start plane. Jippy lead the first race for the first lap until bluepriunt slipped through after a mistake, GenX with the pace, but race pressure causing many mistakes. But disaster for Blueprint as a crash on teh slalom sent him into the net. While Jippyhesus runs away with first place, that crash took Blueprint way too long to recover from but still manages to bring it home ahead of Gen X.
Race 2
With a stress inducing enforced pause by Trackside doing trackside-y things, the second race kicked off with a very bobbly start as GenX jumped the tone and Blueprint did his now signature springy start and then crashing at teh timing gate. GenX whipped back around over the starting block before proceeding to start his race. This let Jippyhesus get a very clean start and wide one track for his first lap. Jippy crossed the line taking 1st place a whole lap ahead as Blueprint and GenX battle for second place. It all got very frantic in the merry-go-round creature as GenX caught up and then Blueprint made a mistake meaning it was a mad dash for the final gate. Just as they both wnet through the final corkscrew, the top of Blueprints gimbal stick came off and so he went down giving GenX the 2nd place position. After a bit of excited shouting, Blueprint righted himself and limped across the line for 3rd - avoiding the DNF.
Race 3
And finally with twitchy thumbs and adrenalin pumping, they were straight into the final race for D Main. Clearly this worked for our pilots as they all launched successfully with Jippy leading the way, Blueprint and GenX battling for second. But GenX now in the groove, kept his cool and avoided too many mistakes taking 2nd place with Blueprint bringing it home for 3rd.

C Main Finals
Race 1
All pilots launched cleanly and for a whole lap it was too close to call as they all threaded the needle, but then starting his second lap, Jaggers went down and let Norfolk’n’good through. Jaggers struggled to get back up into the race. Kiz and The Hann made some mistakes but capitalised on this slipping up a position. Kiz, chasing down Norfolk’n’Good who was 4-5 gates ahead, really pushed and clearly had the pace, but with only half a lap left, it just wasn't enough as Norfolk got 1st place, Kiz cleanly took 2nd. A few bobbles cost The Hann who brought in 4th really closely just behind Jaggers in 3rd.
Race 2
Off the line into race 2 and Kix take a tumble on the triangular starting spiral, letting the pack get ahead. The Hann had a lucky escape as he crashed on the dive gate, ended up in the scissor lift but managed to wiggle himself free. Meanwhile Jaggers runs away into the lead, keeping up the pace to stretch a lead on Norfolk’n’good. That is, until a mistake lets her slip past and seeing this happen, lets the pressure get to him causing even more mistakes. Kiz and The Hann were battling for third place in the emoji gate before both take a tumble on the dive gate retry it for a second time and tumble again the pressure too much to fly cleanly, eventually The Hann gets out ahead continuing his race. While Jaggers crosses the line taking 1st place, Norfolk’n’good just lacking the pace to keep up with him takes 2nd. Then limping across the line with barely any mAh’s remaining The Hann takes 3rd, but with 3 failed attempts at the dive gate draining his battery to depletion, kiz experiences the worst image - the rainbow screen of doom - as his whoop runs out of battery mere meters from the final gate leaving him with a DNF and zero points.
Race 3
The last race was super clean with very few bobbles form all pilots now operating at peak performance. Jaggers took an early lead, and kept his cool, taking cautious and slower lines through the dive gate keeping them reliable meant he avoided crashes all the way around with zero crashes easily walked away with 1st place. It looked like Norfolk’n’good would pull another consistent win, but for a while the pace of The Hann overtook her on the second lap before a really unlucky bobble right at the end on the merry-go-round let her back through to claim 2nd. The Hann barely gets 3rd as Kiz catches up after an early dive gate crash put him half a lap behind.

B Main Finals
Race 1
With his and hers LED whoops lining up, the commentator had a job to tell the difference between Minirollsrule and Infinity as they set off into their first race of B Main. Everyone cleanly over to the D gate before the first casualty and Infinity gets prop washed out by Minirollsrule dirty air, just pipping him to a gate. This cost him some time while Lex and Mike went past until a crash had Lex sitting on his lid for far too long while the whoop sorted itself out. This pushed him back down the table giving Minirolls even more free air. He flew cleanly but not so fast just making sure he made it home and took a 1st place. Meanwhile a battle was going on for 2nd with all three remaining pilots making repeated mistakes and then all crossing the line within 10ths of a second. But just edging them all out was Lex who takes 2nd, narrowly beating Infinity on the line for 3rd and just a couple seconds later MikeFPV brings home 4th.
Race 2
Everyone jumps off the line and cleanly make it all the way to the D gate again before another unlucky tumble from Infinity sets him back. Minirollsrule leads the way into the Merry-go-round before he also takes a tumble letting Mike slip into first. Lex had a slow start but god into the groove and scoots past Minrollsrule on his head at the start gate. Infinity also capitalising on this mistake goes into third but a mistake shortly after on the emoji gate sets him back allowing Minirollsrule to gain the place back but only briefly before crashing out again under race pressure. All the while Mike FPV is stretching that lead taking 1st with Infinify on his tail getting a comfortable 2nd, ahead of Lex and Minirollsrule limping across the line in 4th.
Race 3
Terrible start for Infinity as his whoop flops over on its side. Clearly a weekend of thrashing the LED’s off the whoop had taken its toll because after a quick pilot line replug - of dubious legality - he managed to start his race, nearly a whole lap behind. Minirollsrule and Lex battle through the Imogi gate, the Dive gate and the D gate for first until a mistake on the merry-go-round sends Minirollsrule tumbling allowing Lex to slip past, closely followed by Mike into the next lap. As Lex beautifully corkscrews over the top of the emoji, mike is right on his tail flat spinning, in angle mode, trying to catch him. Both have a slower, but successful dive before lex touches down allowing mike to take the lead into the third lap. Infinity struck down with some more bad luck as it looks like a dodgy motor wire keeps him on the ground longer than normal before getting back up and flying, now way behind. Lex, flying angry and fast pushes hard to catch up with Mike and even thought he keeps it smooth, Mike is just too far ahead and take the 1st position win. With that tumble, it give Minirollsrule a chance to catch up but Lex has the speed and takes 2nd, with Minirollsrule geting 3rd a few seconds later. Unfortunately Inifinity’s battery is screaming as he crosses the line, avoiding a DNF and taking 4th place.

A Main Finals
Race 1
And now, to decide the fastest Tiny Whoop pilot in the UK we get to the big finals. With only 4 hundredths of a second separating the top qualifiers this was always going to be fast. And immediately off the line the pace was blistering. But Rich and Dirty Mc Stinky went down on the first cork setting them back as Antihype and Dan Carpy streaked ahead. Angle mode leading, but the flying fish reeling him in fast until disaster, the reining champ goes down letting Antihype get away. Dirty McStinky in 3rd and way back is Rich with a damaged camera flying through the red edges of rage. Dan Carpy retakes first place with DirtyMcstinky close behind him into second. A bobble on the dive gate slows down Carpy and then disaster for DirtyMcstinky as he take a tumble on the merry-go-round and experiences the racing terror of the rainbow screen of death as the VTX shuts down. Waiting for it to recover, Antihype and Dan Carpy slip past with Rich now right on top of him but tis too little too late. Dan Carpy gets 1st place, Antihype in 2nd, Dirty McStinky in 3rd and Rich in 4th in this incredibly twitchy and crash filled race.
Race 2
Moving into the second race everyone got away clean with Rich leading the first lap all the way to the merry-go-round with Dirty McStinky hot on his tail. As they go into the second lap, Dirty can see rich in his DVR. Making a move in the D gate it just doenst work out and he goes down hard. Antiohype brings up 3rd and Dan surprisingly down in 4th is taking a more conservative approach to this race which pays off at the start of the third lap as a mistake from Rich lets Dan reel him in and also slip past DirtyMcstinky. But flying his own race is Antihype with a very clean run is suddenly faced with a speedy Dan Carpy. Its too late to catch Rich as he takes 1st place, but neck and neck Antihype and Dan carpy cross the line almost at the same time. Dan just edges out Antihype by 0.4 of a second swiping 2nd place leaving 3rd for Antihype. A few to many crashes means DirtyMcStinky runs his battery all the way down and has to accept the DNF.
Race 3 Finally, the last race lines up for the 2026 Finals, and it’s all still open where every point counts in this final race for the championship. Off the line and its a wobbly start for DirtyMcStinky not staying at the back of the pack for long, he makes up ground immediately and chases Rich across the room to the Merry-go-round. Dan has a tumble on the dive but recovers quickly as he and Antihype chase them down. Dirty just takes first but then a mistake hands it back to Rich across the line into the second lap. Antihype is right there with him flying through the traffic and crosses in second but he can feel Dan and Dirty now breathing down his neck. A mistake from Rich and Dan on the dive gate closes the pack up where it becomes neck and neck with everyone on the D gate at the same time. Still in front Rich crosses the room first but a tumble lets Dirtyy sneak past with Dan hot on his tail in the second but with a super clean last lap its DirtyMcstinky all the way to 1st place finish, Dan chases super cleanly but can only manage 2nd. Antihype holds off Rich who took another tumble taking 3rd and 4th respectively.

Results of TWUK Finals 2026
With 1 win each for DirtyMcStinky, Dan Carpy and Rich, and a very consistent set of flights for Antihype it all came down to points. With just one point clinching him the prestige of runner up, Dirty McStinky takes second place. But this leaves us with a tie for 3rd and the tension of referring to the tie break rules. With Rich having attended more events this gives him the edge taking the 3rd place overall and Antihype picking up 4th in this fantastic competition.
But with two 2nd place finishes on top of a win, it is the BDRA’s greatest pleasure to announce that Dan Carpy wins the Tiny Whoop UK League for the 2026 season! Lifting that trophy, he will have his name engraved for the second time, cementing his place in tiny drone racing history and adding a beautiful trophy to his mantle piece.

After a whole year of collecting points, travelling between races up and down the country, having a great time with friends and whoopers from all over and now a huge weekend of incredibly fast racing, here are the top Micro Ducted Drone Racers of 2026
