This is the first BTW Racing League. Open to all abilities and people from all clubs. Take your first step into whoop racing in a low pressure and fun environment with your local club.

Take part and experience what it’s like to fly in a racing format. Don’t worry if you don't know or understand everything about racing or how it works. This is a friendly event where people are happy to guide you and help you have fun learning the ropes!

Designed to be fun and a little challenging

But most importantly covered in colourful LED’s

You’ll get some great photos of the racing!

Tables and chairs will be available

Power is in the walls so bring an extension lead

“Run What You Brung” Whoop Spec

Most Whoops can meet this spec off the shelf

65mm max “motor post to motor post”
Analogue VTX or HDZero Digital VTX
Max 25mw VTX power

LEDs are optional but make you look cool

Qualifying

Pilots will be randomly seeded into heats of 4 pilots

Minimum of 8 rounds of qualifying (more if we have time)

Your fastest 2 consecutive laps is your qualifying time

Your Qualifying time seeds your finals starting position

Only the top 16 pilots qualify for finals

If we have 32 pilots we will run 2 finals classes

Double Elimination Finals

Everyone’s favourite finals style whittles down to the final 4 racers

Top 2 racers go through
Bottom 2 racers lose a life
Lose 2 times and you are out

We keep going till we have 4 finalists and a winner!

Ticket

The ticket reserves you 1 pilot slot

16 Pilot slots available

Depending on demand…We may open this up to 32 pilot slots with 2 finals classes

Insurance

All pilots will require insurance for this event.

If you are already a member of the BMFA or have BTW Gold Membership you are ready to go.

If you are a member of an alternative drone insurer, unfortunately this is not sufficient. This is because other insurers (that we have found) do not cover competitive events.
